Apart from the beautiful cars and the adventure-filled tours around the world, The Grant Tour captivates audiences because of the funny quotes.

Fans of the Amazon Prime Video car show, The Grand Tour have a reason to smile after it was recently announced that a new series special dubbed “A Scandi Flick” would premiere this September. The anticipation is high, given the behind-the-scenes incidents, notably James May’s car crash while filming. So far, the trio of Clarkson, Hammond, and May, has been impressive, carrying with it the magic from the Top Gear years and adding even newer tricks. Among the things fans always look forward to in the show are the funny quotes, and there have been stand out ones in the series so far.

10 “It’s Very Unlikely We’ll Be Fired Now. We’re On The Internet.”

Jeremy Clarkson

In the pilot episode, Jeremy makes fun of his dismissal by the BBC. He figures that since anything goes on the internet, and the new show is streaming on Amazon Prime, it's likely that he and his buddies will get away with all their misbehavior.Clarkson was dismissed from Top Gear in 2015 after a "fracas" involving a producer (per The Washington Post), which became a controversial moment in UK television history - but trust him to see it as no big deal. True to his character, he isn’t remorseful but glad that he is no longer a BBC employee. As expected, Hammond protests and vows not to follow him again if he gets another letter of termination.

9 "What Did I Do Wrong In My Life That I'm Here. In Britain. In The Rain. Driving A Fiat."

The American

It doesn’t take long for the show’s test driver, simply known as The American, to lament his fate. Driving a Fiat in cold weather in Britain seems to bother him the most.A NASCAR driver by profession, The American is used to being in fast cars, which explains why the slow Fiat frustrates him so much. And a Fiat happens to not be the most stable car in the rain. With his words, he also extends the in-running joke where the presenters always throw shade at Americans for thinking they are better than Brits.

8 “There Goes The World’s Most Irredeemable Idiot.”

James May

May can’t help but shake his head in disbelief when he sees Clarkson attempting to drive through a narrow street in a wide supercar. He then goes on to enjoy the show as Clarkson damages the sides of the car.May is not the only one that frequently gets perplexed by Clarkson’s actions - the viewers do too. Even though his Clarkson-knows-best attitude always works, he ends up in trouble this time. What’s funnier is that no one shows any willingness to help him. Pedestrians just look on and so do Hammond and May.

7 “Sometimes If You Listen Very Carefully, You Can Hear My Genius.”

Jeremy Clarkson

While testing out a car in the desert, Clarkson pulls off a few stunts before acknowledging his own brilliance. And he follows that up with the appropriate facial expressions. It’s not the first time the “genius” word has come up in regard to the trio. Among Clarkson’s best Top Gear quotes is one where he calls himself a genius too. But what’s laudable about him is that he always comes up with ways to rephrase the statement in order to heap more praise on himself.

6 "You've Learned To Put Socks On, But Other Than That..."

Richard Hammond

While in South Africa, the trio pitches a tent near an archeological site that the Homo Erectus called home. Clarkson explains to the audience how honored he is since it’s at that location that man morphed from ape. Well, Hammond argues that Clarkson hasn’t evolved much.Hammond isn’t exactly wrong since Clarkson always prefers the traditional way of doing things. From old motoring policies to fuel cars over electric cars, the presenter doesn’t embrace change that much. The quote is also a way for Hammond to Clarkson’s overall intelligence. Given the number of questionable things he does, Hammond figures Clarkson hasn’t evolved much.

5 "You'd Be No Good In Immigration."

Jeremy Clarkson

While reviewing the Audi TT, Clarkson tries to prove that it’s more spacious than it actually is. He thus gives the audience the task of finding where Hammond is hiding in it. They fail, and Clarkson is quick to roast them. It’s the perfect joke regarding the circumstances. That none of the audience members is able to find where Hammond is means they’d also do a poor job if employed at immigration departments. And in just a few words, Clarkson manages to convert the doubters who are worried about the Audi TT's load capacity into believers.

4 “What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Unlikely To Be A Fire For Once.”

Jeremy Clarkson

During one of the best Grant Tour specials, the “Seamen” special, Clarkson notices Hammond playing in the water. He bets that something might go wrong as usual but at least it won’t be fire this time.Regarding all-things-Hammond, Clarkson is always a pessimist. In his defense, Hammond has indeed found himself in trouble many times. However, the number of accidental fires that Hammond has caused doesn’t exceed that of Clarkson but trust the presenter to make his colleague seem like the careless one.

3 “Which Seat Do They Put In As Standard?”

James May

During a drive, Hammond explains to Clarkson and May that the Dodge Demon only comes with one seat as standard. To get the passenger seat, you have to pay a dollar. May is surprised and goes on to ask a question that has his colleagues chuckling. It’s a funny question to the other 2 presenters since it’s quite obvious which seat would be put as standard, and that’s the driver’s seat. Still, May somehow imagines that the car manufacturers would be malicious enough to leave out the mandatory seat needed to be able to steer the Dodge Demon. As such, drivers would be forced to pay for the most important seat. It's moments like this that make The Grand Tour one of the best car shows.

2 “I Donno. I’m Not A Pathologist.”

Richard Hammond

In one of the show’s comedy segments where celebrity guests run into misfortunes “die” before reaching the tent, Jeremy wonders why Carol Vorderman ended up dead too despite reaching the entrance. To that, Hammond has the perfect response.Jeremy is always equipped with retorts but on this occasion, even he struggles to come up with a comeback to Hammond’s quote. It’s a good response from Hammond since he has no way of knowing what caused the “death” of Carol. After all, he’s just a gearhead.

1 “Where I Come From, This Isn’t A Car, It’s A Cry For Help.”

The American

The American once again laments after being asked to test the BMW M2. The NASCAR driver then goes on to describe it in the best way possible. As one of the best British reality shows, The Grand Tour never fails to make fun of cultural differences. In the pre-Amazon days, Clarkson was the king of trashing popular car models, but The American is quick to take the mantle from him. His words are in line with the show’s in-running joke where Americans think of their cars as better than foreign models. So, even the good-looking M2 doesn’t impress The American.
