The quirky Belcher family is still at it after a decade of familial fun. Here's everything we know about Bob's Burgers season 13.
Since its debut in 2013, Bob's Burgers has been serving up quality episodes. Whether it be contending with the financial woes inherent to the restaurant business, battling with the show's incredibly irritating cast of supplemental characters, or dealing with internal familial drama, the Belchers always have a lot on their plate and often find themselves in pickles. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, and if you can't handle drama, you definitely want to avoid this chaotic family-owned burger restaurant.
Bob and his family have been delighting audiences for nearly a decade now. Much like the ingredients that the titular patriarch uses in his titular burgers, the show has managed to remain fresh throughout its twelve-season run. Recently, audiences got to experience their favorite family in a long-awaited feature-length film, which saw the humble seaside town that provides the series' setting rocked by murder and mayhem. However, the movie was just bonus content for fans of the franchise, and the family's episodic adventures are set to continue in short order.
Here's everything we know about Bob's Burgers season 13.
Very little is known about the plot of Bob's Burgers season 13. The recently released The Bob's Burgers Movie saw their seaside town's infamous amusement park nearly burned to the ground, so the season's events may force the town to contend with this reality.
Additionally, when the film ended, the Belcher family was reopening their restaurant, which was put on hiatus after a massive sinkhole opened up in front of the building. Though their business has never really been booming, per se, early episodes might see the family attempting to regain their business presence in the city.
Season 13: The Cast
It wouldn't be Bob's Burgers without the Belcher family, all of whom will return for season thirteen. Of course, H. Jon Benjamin (Archer, Star Trek: Short Treks) will portray the harried, hard-working Bob Belcher. Linda Belcher, voiced by John Roberts (Gravity Falls, The Simpsons), will continue to irritate Bob and dote on her children, Dan Mintz (Speechless, The Goldbergs) will give life to the oftentimes painfully awkward yet utterly authentic Tina Belcher, Eugene Mirman (Flight of the Concords, The Boys Presents: Diabolical) will once again portray the musically gifted middle child Gene Belcher, and the petulant youngest Belcher, Lousie, will be played by Kristen Schaal (Toy Story 4, Bill & Ted Face the Music).
Additionally, several of the Belcher's family friends, who have been making appearances in the restaurant since the beginning of the series, will be featured in season thirteen. This includes Larry Murphy's (Delocated, Ugly Americans) Teddy, a lonely handyman who relies on the Belcher family for company, Andy Kindler's (Wizard of Waverly Place, Maron) Mort, the aptly named mortician whose macabre business is unfortunately located right next door to Bob's Burgers, and Tim Meadows' (Mean Girls, Semi-Pro) Mike, the local mailman who often stops into the restaurant while on his daily route.
Bob Belcher's primary business rival, Jimmy Pesto, owns the incredibly popular Jimmy Pesto's Pizzeria, located across the street from Bob's Burgers. Jimmy Pesto was formerly voiced by Jay Johnston (Mr. Show with Bob and David, The Sarah Silverman Program). However, Johnston's involvement with the attempted Capitol insurrection on January 6th, 2021, necessitated his removal from the show, so if the character is to return, he will need to be voiced by a different actor. Pesto's son, Jimmy Jr., also voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, is a recurring romantic interest for Tina Belcher and will appear in season thirteen.
Finally, the Belcher's quirky schoolmates will show up in season 13, including Bobby Tisdale's (The Campaign, Iron Man 3) Zeke, Jenny Slate's (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, The Secret Life of Pets) Tammy, Aziz Ansari's (Parks and Recreation, Master of None) Daryl, and Brian Huskey's (The Disaster Artist, Ant-Man and the Wasp) Regular-Sized Rudy.
The first episode of Bob's Burgers season 13, "To Bob, or Not to Bob," debuted September 25th on Fox; it was made available to Hulu subscribers the following day. Episodes are slated to come out every week. Though The Bob's Burgers Movie was subject to numerous delays, the television series has been remarkably punctual, releasing a new season every year. Fans can expect a steady stream of episodes.
Bob's Burgers is undeniably one of the most consistent shows of all time. After almost a decade of Belcher family adventures, the jokes still manage to make audiences laugh, and the emotional moments still manage to tug at their heartstrings. Let's hope season 13 holds up to the series' incredible legacy.
