The fight with Terry Silver in the Cobra Kai season 5 finale put an end to Chozens mission. But does that mean hell go back to Japan now?

Cobra Kai ended Chozens mission thus raising questions about his future in the series. After appearing in two season 3 episodes and coming back in a surprise cameo in the season 4 finale The Karate Kid Part II villain served as a principal character during the fight to take down Terry Silver. Chozen was an important part of Cobra Kai season 5 but whether or hell stick around wasnt explained by the ending.

Chozen had a clear objective in the Netflix series. When he came to the Valley it was to accomplish one goal which was defeating the Cobra Kai dojo. After executing an admittedly flawed plan to attack Silver in his own home the main characters finally succeeded in removing the villain from power. ln addition to playing a pivotal role in stopping him Chozen also proved through his fighting skills thats he the better martial artist between the two. Now that Silver has been dealt with the franchise is free to move on to its next chapter which is sure to be filled with a new set of challenges for Johnny Daniel and everyone else.

Johnny and Daniel will most likely continue training their students whereas Chozens future in Cobra Kai is much less obvious. After all he did what he set out to do so he doesnt really have a reason to remain in the Valley after season 5s ending. That being said the popularity of his character gives him excellent odds of coming back in season 6. Plus the series does have a way of justifying his continued presence in the Valley when the series returns. Chozen has already started training the students so helping them to secure their participation in the Sekai Taikai could motivate him to see it through to the end.

What Chozens Cobra Kai Season 6 Story Could Be

Cobra Kai has a few potential options when it comes to exploring Chozens future in the series. In the seasons penultimate episode it was confirmed that Chozen has romantic feelings for Kumiko but unless the show plans to somehow bring her to the Valley its unclear how Cobra Kai will follow up on that reveal. Theres also the moment he had with Tory in episode 2 which showed him helping her focus. This could have been an early step toward making Chozen Torys new karate mentor. With Kreese on the run it may be necessary for her to find someone else to help her grow as a fighter.

All things considered Cobra Kai still has more stories to tell with Chozen who can continue to contribute to the shows humor action and storytelling in meaningful ways. So while Chozens mission is indeed over Cobra Kai certainly has every reason to begin a new story for him in season 6. It would be a missed opportunity if the show didnt keep him on as an ally in Johnny and Daniels efforts to win the Sekai Taikai.
