Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisleys sentencing date is delayed after they and their lawyer claim a witness lied on the stand.
Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisleys sentencing has been postponed until November. The couple became widely known after their reality show Chrisley Knows Best premiered in 2014. The show follows the lives of Todd a real estate agent from Georgia and his family. Chrisley Knows Best season 9 most recently aired this summer. A spin-off was introduced in 2019. Growing Up Chrisley which is currently airing on E! focuses on the lives of two of the couples children Chase and Savannah Chrisley.
In 2019 Todd and his wife Julie were found guilty on federal charges of bank fraud tax evasion and submitting false documents to banks in order to take out loans. This shocked Chrisley Knows Best fans as Todd and Julie turned themselves in just a day after the indictment and were released on a $100000 bond. Though they settled the charges with the Georgia Department of Revenue they still faced several federal charges.
Todd and Julie were accused in court of submitting false documents to their banks which exaggerated their wealth in order to take out over $30 million in loans just to fund the lifestyle that they were living. The motion for a new trial accused the court of infringing on Todd and Julies Fourth Amendment right when it came to some evidence that was presented in court. The Chrisleys lawyer seems to be pointing the finger at their previous employee whom they claimed impersonated Todd wasnt qualified to handle his finances and falsified documents.
Though the Chrisley Knows Best couple has tried to place blame on their ex-employee for essentially everything that they were charged with they were still found guilty once all the evidence was presented. So whether Todd and Julie were just trying to find themselves a scapegoat or truly didnt commit all the fraud that they were convicted of they will likely still be serving jail time. With sentencing pushed off until November the Chrisleys have more time to wait out the inevitable. In the meantime they can focus on the toll that this court case has taken on their family.
