Season 7 Episode 4
In season 7 the cast and crew were on the vessel Valor. With Lee Rosbach as the captain Kevin Dobson as the chef Ashton Pienaar as bosun and Kate Chastain as the chief stew. While traveling through the waters in South East Asia there were highs and lows among the cast as well as the charters. One of the highest tips the crew received this season was $20000 but it came from unlikely charter guests who were so drunk that they caused a mess for the crew. There were worse charter guests than Helen Hoey and Richard Fiore and their friends but in the end it was all worth it when they split $20000 among the crew.
$21000
Roy Orbison Jr. is the son of musician Roy Orbison. The musician brought his wife kids and friends along for a beautiful charter around Croatia on Lady Michelle. Although this charter guest was on Below Decks spinoff Below Deck Mediterranean its still one of the highest tips a crew has gotten.Lady Michelle had heaps of drama aboard due to Lexi Wilson bumping heads with a majority of her crew but it didnt distract the guests from tipping large. After a threeday charter Orbison left $21000 for the crew to split. While there are some fake aspects to Below Deck like any reality TV series this tip was anything but fake.
$21000
Season 5 Episode 6
Season 5 saw the crew back on Valor but this time they traveled throughout St. Martin. Kate was back as one of Below Decks best chief stews and Nico Scholly and EJ Jansen were on board as bosuns. Nico and Kate had a hard time on Valor with most of their crew being new to yachting but that didnt stop them from getting a hefty tip in episode 6.With Kates help she planned an amazing anniversary surprise for the guests which resulted in them tipping the crew $21000. Unbeknownst to the guests tensions were rising among the crew and most were at their breaking points.
$21000
Season 5 Episode 8
Season 5 saw celebrity Leigh Anne Tuohy enter Valor for an extraordinary trip with friends. Tuohy and her family were the inspirations behind Sandra Bullocks hit movie The Blind Side. As foodies Tuohy and her friends were as excited about the food they were going to eat as they were about the pristine waters.Captain Lee admitted after Tuohy left that she was one of his favorite charters according to Cheat Sheet. They were just great he finished. It also didnt hurt that she left a whopping $21000 to prove her gratitude to the crew.
$23585
What made season 6 of Below Deck Mediterranean one of the best seasons was the bond between the staff. Although they had issues with Lexi and Mathew Shae the crew genuinely got along and protected each other from unruly guests or negative situations.Malia White proved she was one of the best bosuns by entertaining Patrick Kirk and his beerloving guests throughout the charter. She and the other deckhands created a fun day in the sun centered around a Beer Olympics. The effort the crew put into this charter got them a nice $23585 tip.
$25000
Season 9 Episode 12
In one of the more recent seasons of Below Deck the crew was rewarded for their hard work after a couple who used to be a part of the US Navy—renewed their vows on My Seanna. However there was a lot of drama in the galley that the charter guests were unaware of.In this particular episode Rayna was justifiably upset over a racial slur that was used by Heather. The lack of diversity was already a common criticism on Below Deck and the use of derogatory terms under any sequence is unacceptable. While this was going on the guests had no idea because they were too busy having a great time and enjoying Chef Rachels food.
$25000
Season 8 Episode 9
Season 8 saw the cast and crew back on My Seanna. Francesca Rubi was the chief stew Eddie Lucas was bosun and Rachel Hargrove was back as one of Below Decks best chefs. One of the reasons why the crew was tipped so highly was because of the 10course Frenchinspired meal that Rachel cooked for them on one of their last nights at sea. Lee was so impressed by his crews work with this charter that he gave them some time off to explore a donkey sanctuary which was a fist on Below Deck.
$25000
Season 8 Episode 3
The cast of season 8 reached another high tip of $25000 but this time it happened at the start of the season. The crew knew they were in over their heads when the charter group entered the yacht trying to relive the glory of their college years. The crew was used to catering to classy sophisticates but this crew was more interested in drinking in the hot tub than anything else. And even though there were a few hiccups with the beach picnic communication with the crew and their wild behavior was offputting they proved everyone wrong and tipped handsomely before leaving the vessel. These guests were certainly memorable.
$25800
Charter guest Terez Lauren left one of the highest tips in the franchise in season 6 on Lady Michelle. Funny enough in an interview with Show Biz Cheat Sheets Lauren said that she thought $25800 was too low of a tip. However it was the minimum she could give considering how the charter went.I come from [the] service industry so 20% is minimum. Had they crushed it [we] would have given them so much more. She went on to say that she was prepared to tip $100000 but there were too many bumps during their trip to make that happen.
$35000
Season 5 Episode 14
According to Captain Lee a guest on season 5 left them one of the highest tips the crew had ever received while filming Below Deck.Timothy Sykes was back for another episode of Below Deck and was ready to be wowed. Because of his demanding nature and need for WiFi Kate and Captain Lee felt stressed trying to make his stay enjoyable. His managerial style of communication rubbed the crew the wrong way but it was worth it when it tipped the highest tip in Below Deck history with $35000. While in an interview for the podcast Side Piece Lee said He [left the large tip] on his second trip. Because his first trip remember he took back five grand because [we] screwed up [his] 19yearold dates dinner. This made Captain Lee all the more likable because he knew what made a great charter and what was expected.
