Michael and Sara are both integral to the story told throughout Prison Break, and they have each saved each other numerous times.
The five seasons of Prison Break have gone down as the new benchmark for crime dramas with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) as the protagonist to beat. On the surface, Prison Break appears to be all violence and murders, but the show's biggest driver is Scofield's love for Sarah and Lincoln., it is Scofield running the show, but he is not always the hero he is deemed to be. Sarah Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) has been the perfect companion that Michael needed to complete most of his toughest missions. Whether directly or indirectly, Sarah runs the show in her own way, which is why it is important to give her credit for saving Michael nearly as many times as he saved her.
10 Sarah: Leaving The Infirmary Door Open
Sarah had quite a simple life at Fox River until the day she left the door open for Michael Scofield. Her reason was anything from love to the personal conviction that Lincoln Burrows was innocent, but the cost was the end of her life as she knew it. She literally gave up everything to save Michael's brother and actually saved him in the process as well.If Michael stayed in prison any longer, it was clear that he would end up dead. Caroline Reynolds was already the president, and with the company on her side, it wouldn't have taken her long to assassinate the brothers. It was the first time Sarah actually saved Michael, but she didn't know it.
9 Michael: Pulling Sarah Out Of The Burning Infirmary
Michael needed a distraction to stop the count, but when she turned off the AC for the entire prison block, he got a lot more than just time. He got a guard killed and a whole prison riot, he also almost got Sarah killed. It was obvious that he had feelings for her by then, but it wasn't clear just how far he would go to save her.Michael managed to sneak through the ceilings and pull Sarah out of the infirmary just in time to save her from both the fire and the rowdy inmates. Scofield's selfless act became the most romantic action he did for Sarah in the first season; If you don't count the beautiful flower he made her on her birthday.
8 Sarah: Surrendering To The FBI
Scofield was in so much trouble after breaking out of Fox River that you would expect every smart woman to stop fighting for him, but Sarah didn't. She was determined to help Lincoln get exonerated and even willing to disappear with a convict she had met in prison. When their plan to force the president's hand into getting a pardon failed, it was time to run. Sarah then discovered Mahone's trick and handed himself over to the agents before reaching Michael's ship allowing him and Lincoln to escape to Panama while she went to jail. It felt like she had left the prison door open for him all over again.
7 Michael: The Loft
Scylla was one of the most interesting plot twists in the entire show, and it's climax just can't be forgotten. Everything seemed to be falling apart for Michael as he was forced to choose between the love of his life and his brother. As usual, the hero chose to save both of them, but of course, he could only be in one place at a time, so he chose Sarah. The general had already left her at the hands of T Bag to do with her as he wanted, and the end seemed near for poor Sarah. His genius climbing skills helped him save the princess one more time.
6 Sarah: Shooting Kim
Disaster is the only word that can summarize the entire crew's escape to Panama. At first, it looked like Michael and Lincoln could finally find peace of mind, but then trouble followed them beginning with T Bag, then Mahone, and finally, Bill Kim.Bill Kim had orders to deliver only one of the brothers alive, and since he didn't specify, Michael could have been his next victim until Sarah came out of the boat with a ready pistol to save the day. The consequences of killing Kim were hard to live with, but at least she got to keep the love of her life alive.
5 Michael: Taking The Fall For Kim's Murder
Michael's time in SONA was definitely worse compared to any other prison he has been to, and it was all because of a crime Sarah committed. The stunt he pulled off after the brief police chase when Sarah shot Kim led him straight into the company's trap.He didn't have to take the fall (If Sarah would have fared any better in a Panamanian prison), but he did anyway. Considering the price the company had now put on the trio, Scofield saved Sarah from certain death on this instance.
4 Sarah: Shooting Christina
You wouldn't have expected Michael to gather enough courage to shoot his own mother, but he did; at least he pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, his chamber was empty, and it was obvious his mother wouldn't hesitate to kill him.Sarah's timely intervention saved the hero, although it landed her in prison and nearly got her killed. Killing Christina Scofield was also sweet revenge for Sarah in a way considering the trouble she had put the entire crew through.
3 Michael: Breaking Sarah Out Of Prison
Of all the sacrifices made by anyone in Prison Break, this was the most selfless one. Sarah and her unborn baby were going to die in the prison if Scofield hadn't intervened, although success came at the cost of his life, or at least that is what we thought.Breaking Sarah out of the women's wing of Fox River wasn't as thrilling as the first Prison Break, but the idea of Scofield dying in the process was just inconceivable. It would have served as a sad but acceptable end to the adventures of the great Michael Scofield until Fox brought the fifth season with the shocking revelation of a living Scofield.
2 Sarah: Flying To Greece To Treat Michael
Sarah's role in the fifth season was limited to that of Poseidon's victim rather than the smart mother with a fighting spirit everyone expected. However, when she found out that Michael was alive and in need of help, she broke ranks with her corrupt husband and offered Michael the only chance he could get to live. She flew to Greece, into the middle of nowhere, to give her blood and also nurse the dying Michael back to health. Going against Poseidon's orders and that heart-warming kiss she gave Michael brought the old Sarah we knew back to life.
1 Michael: Framing Poseidon
The cast and producers of Prison Break have given fans lots of reasons to believe that a sixth season is not out of the question, and it will be better than the fifth. The fifth season introduced a disappointing angle of a villain who seemed to outsmart all the heroes known to the fans.Jacob Ness, aka Poseidon and his small team of two goons, wreaked more havoc on team Prison-Break than the company had, and Sarah was the worst affected of all. Turning the tables on Ness allowed Scofield to bring his small family together for the first time since the sad end of the fourth season.
